RELATIONSHIPS IN THE BIOCOENOSIS
Interspecific relationships
·Interspecific competition: Both species are harmed by the interaction. Occurs between species that use the same resources when it is in short supply.
·Predation: One organism (the predator) captures and kills another (the prey) to feed on it.
·Parasitism: Benefits one species ( the parasite) at the expense of the other ( the host).
·Mutualism: Between organisms of two different species in which each one is benefited.
·Commensalism: Benefits one species and does not affect the other.
